Welcome to the new YautjaClan website! Hilariously, when I began my search for a unique name to call our new Predator movie site, one of the domain names I was looking into was YautjaCodex. Upon attempting to register the domain however, I noticed it was already taken. So, naturally as a web developer, I was curious if there was a website attached to the domain or had the name just been reserved? To my surprise, there was a website. Not only does a website exist, it contains some interesting details only someone who builds websites would think to look for. Thus began my deep dive into this new online resource.
Discovery of Yautja Codex
Upon running the domain YautjaCodex(.com) through various WHOIS lookup tools, it was apparent the original registrar (owner of the domain name) was not publicly available, giving no indication that a movie studio owns the domain. I was able to deduce that the domain was registered through Cloudflare Registrar - which is not usually what corporations use to register their domains. However the look of the site and the graphics used look professionally made, referencing the same styling utilized in the last two Predator movies.

What I was able to discover was that this mysterious new website was launched September 23rd, 2025 - right before Badlands hit theaters. So, the site has not been online very long. The countdown timer discovered on the final page after you click the glowing red button, if my math is correct, ends on November 9th, 2028 - 3 years after the release of Badlands.
Bad Bloods Media Hold
This is where I started to dig a little deeper. Upon viewing the source code (html) of the webpage, I discovered a commented line (which in html means not visible to the browser) reading BAD BLOODS MEDIA HOLD - DO NOT DISPLAY and a second line embedded in the code reading REF MEDIA RELEASE SCHEDULE. There is also a div surrounding the countdown that uses < div id="cloak" > ... < /div > as well. Whoever owns the website set a hidden Bad Bloods countdown to Nov. 9, 2028 (midnight local time).

At this point I was getting excited - thinking I might have discovered a marketing site for a future Predator movie, but then I dug deeper into the resources the website uses.
Usually with official movie studio-backed websites, images and graphics are proprietary and created in-house. However, the images the YautjaCodex wesbsite uses for the jungle, space and desert backgrounds - are NOT original. I was able to find plenty of other recycled versions of the images on Google. This shook my faith in this being an officially run marketing site, but I needed to know more.
I dug even deeper, checking the site's CSS style sheets for clues, the Javascript the site runs on - all the code seems to be original but no copyright disclaimers or anything to indicate ownership by Disney / 20th Century Studios. The font used looks a lot like the font used in the prologue sequences in both Killer of Killers and Badlands - but after looking into it - I discovered the site uses a font called Trykker - which is a Google Font.
So, the deeper I dug - the more this website seemed more and more like a fan project, rather than an official movie studio ARG. However, I'm not 100% convinced. I emailed both the email displayed in the footer, as well as the hidden email found in the site's meta data to inquire about its validity (if I ever receive a response).
But for now - the mystery remains. What is BAD BLOODS MEDIA RELEASE and why is there a timer counting down to November 9th, 2028?
If this site is an elaborate fan project - well done! It's a well made site and enriches the community. As a fellow web developer - it's great to see. However, if this is an official marketing project created by 20th Century Studios - we may have stumbled upon a release date and potentially a title / or reference to what the next Predator movie could be about. Until I receive confirmation however, I'm 90% sure this is a fan website, 10% sure it could be an official source.
Check out the website for yourself and let us know what YOU think in the comments below! Either way - we can't wait for whatever Disney and 20th Century cook up for the next Yautja flick!
