Weta Workshop continue to showcase some of their work from Predator: Badlands, this time a look at some alternative mask explorations for Dek's brother Kwei! Weta also shared some insight to the creative process they underwent to bring Kwei to life on screen. Check it out:

Like his younger brother Dek, the towering Yautja warrior known as Kwei in the thrilling sci-fi film Predator: Badlands is a powerful combination of performance and practical and visual effects. With the creature concepts from our friend Alec Gillis in one hand, and the costume concepts from Costume Designer Ngila Dickson in the other, we began sculpting Kwei’s imposing form in clay, building on actor Mike Homik’s life cast. Our concept artists also provided design for the Predator mask, which our manufacture team fabricated into its imposing final form.
The brothers tell two sides of the same story: Dek, the “runt” of the clan, and Kwei, the embodiment of power. That contrast made Kwei’s armour especially rewarding to build; every element had to convey refinement and strength, a deliberate counterpoint to Dek’s fractured, battle-worn aesthetic. He was built to look untouchable, every sculpted plate and polished edge crafted to mirror his dominance and their shared warrior heritage.
