Plot details for the new Predator movie Badlands have leaked online thanks to a casting call for the film! Under the guise of the title Back Pack, the new Predator movie is currently filming in New Zealand and is scheduled to continue filming throughout September. According to the casting call, the synopsis for Predator: Badlands involves:
A groundbreaking film in which one of the two main storylines delves into the intricate bond of two very different sisters, their familial ties are put to the ultimate test as they pursue divergent paths and missions.
Not only that the casting call reportedly describes the film's lead roles - a pair of twin sisters whose lives have taken dramatically different paths - one being a naive, geeky scientist named Thia and the other named Tessa, being the more serious and intense one, focused on achieving their family's goals.
[THIA/TESSA] – This casting is for a dual character, and describes both characters. Character identifies as female or non-binary, open ethnicity, mid 20s – mid 40s. Thia has spent most of her life in a laboratory and is now embarking on her first big adventure in the world. She is incredibly smart, witty, enthusiastic, and unflappable. She has an innate disregard for danger, not because she’s fearless, but simply because she’s naive. Strong comedy chops required. // The other sister, Tessa, has a militant intensity when it comes to achieving her family’s goals and mission objectives. She will not let anything get in her way, not even her twin sister.
Back in June, it was reported that Elle Fanning was being eyed for a lead role in Predator: Badlands - it's possible she will play one, if not both roles of Thia and Tessa.
Dan Trachtenberg who directed Prey, returns to direct Predator: Badlands, based on a story developed with Patrick Aison. The film has no concrete release date yet but is currently filming in New Zealand. Additional cast details and further plot details will become available soon!
