Amber Midthunder has recently expressed interest in returning to the world of Predator and would be open to reprising her role in a Prey sequel - if a follow-up ever gets made.

While Dan Trachtenberg's Prey did perform well for Disney / 20th Century Studios and Hulu, there was never any preconceived plans for the film to spawn a direct sequel. Given the film's popularity and positive reception however, the possibility of a sequel is definitely on the table. While speaking to Variety, Midthunder said the following:
I mean, I don’t have a date for you. This is not an announcement, but I’m not saying it’s not. We talk all the time about all kinds of things and that was probably one. I’m ready. I loved that experience. I love that movie, and I would be happy to see where else we can take it.
Prey sparked new dialogue amongst audiences about the possibility of other Predator movies exploring various other time periods throughout history. A sequel to Prey is likely to happen in the future but will it follow on from where Prey left off or introduce us to a new time period with all new characters and a new Predator?

The status of Prey 2
Currently, there is no official word that a sequel to Prey is in development. What we know so far is that Dan Trachtenberg had plans to continue Naru's story in a follow-up to Prey. Prey also concluded with a cliffhanger / post-credit teaser suggesting Naru's interactions with the Yautja were just beginning. Lately Trachtenberg has opted for stand-alone Predator entries discovering new areas of the franchise not yet explored. However, a sequel to his first Predator film could still be on the table.
