In actuality ADI will only create Predators based on the concepts provided to them. Let's just hope they don't look too different!
I hated AvP:R, but the design of that Predator was the only good thing about it.
aww crap, AVP's predator design sucks! The Predator mandibles barely moved other than flare out just a little bit, a far cry from Stan Winston's Predators that could open and close their mandibles.
ADI didn't handle the Predator effects for PREDATORS, that was KNB EFX (http://www.knbefxgroup.com/).
Hope they look better than the predators in Predators.
So what is the significance of a production title in general?
And god I hope James Franco is no longer involved...
Well, that sounds...odd. I just never ever really imagined the story of Predator would be tinkered with. Honestly, i think that this may just turn out fine, but damn it is a weird idea
It sounds very similar to a story by dark horse comics where a pred goes rogue on earth, killing for fun with other predators sent to control it....
Oh I don't like the sound of that. Unnecessary retconning of the classic is a bad move...
Why would the other Predator even hunt Dutch if he was there for different reasons? He's stalking him, disarming to go in for a more thrilling kill. None of this makes sense if it is a different Predator who's attacked by mistake.
This makes no sense within the movie timeline.
When did they switch? Why continue to hunt Dutch? Why does Anna know about it to some extent if it was just a chase that stumbled upon earth.
Talk about unnecessary and dumb......
Hey you forgot the concept arts of the female predators

Great stuff Xeno_Alpha, thanks for that link!
and I like the Predator with a top-knot...

I would love to see an in-depth documentary about the pre-production on Predator. In the same style as the Alien Quadrilogy/Anthology. Predator 1 & 2 are my second favorite films.
Look at this one:

Picture from Predatorium.com Predator concept art gallery.
It does, doesnt it!
I'm glad they decided on the now familiar concept, but it's always very interesting to learn more about the evolution of a design.
Spooky.....the Pred inside that helmet looks rather like an angry Giger Space Jockey!

And to Stan Winston for bringing the Predator to life.
That is an interesting picture, you can read different things into it.
^Took the words right out of my mouth, Chris
This is awesome! Great job!
Looks wonderful, and he really stands out against the beautifuly coloured skyline! ;)
CHRIS PICARD - Oh, gosh! "Stick around"? Hahaha! Goofball! What is this f@$&ing tie business? ;)
@Lord Tyrant no, its just what i named it ;) (hunter above hawks/ hunting humans)
desert i dont know if is a good idea..i prefer in the jungle/home base of the predators, that i want to see. And don't forget the action,i want badass predators.
That is a damn fine poster!
@Chris Pickard... it looks like arnie's sillowette :D
that poster is amazing
Don't forget, The Terminator was on a smaller budget but grand, implied themes going-on off-screen and story telling that sets-up story arcs and characterization that Cameron picked-up upon, exploited and put the accelorator on resulted in Terminator 2 which was excellent in its own right as a film.
I thought Adrian Brody sucked in Predators, but then again I didn't really like much in that movie at all. The character was unlikable literally leading everyone into a trap so he could get a look at the predators. On top of his bland acting. He might work is serious films but a movie like Predator requires some over the top acting. Loved Arnold and Danny in their respective leads; much more fun to follow that Adrian Brody ever was.
James Franco might work, depends what they do with it. I won't criticize him till I see the movie, but not something that I hate right off the bat.
I HATED, I absolutely HATED Adrian Brody in Predators!!! I UTTERLEY HATED Adrien Brodys casting and I fucking DETEST already the idea of a weedy James Franco in a franchise that is based upon hewen from granite muscle. Three Hundred Spartans-type grizzly Human aggression pitted against inter-galactic alien aggression!!
Once again, they're getting away from the core-subject matter that made PREDATOR so-fucking-EXCELLENT!!!
James Franco as a supporting role in the veign of Hawkings or something from the first f8lm or Poncho then thats fine! But as the main lead, WHY won't the Rock - Dwayne Johston do it, or Gerard Butler, Idris Elba even! Giving it a twist of sorts. Even include Dave Baustia as a kind of Blain character who probably turns-out psycologically like Mac.
I would go so-far as to say why not Jamie Foxx for a Carl Weathers 'Dillon'-like character without copying it to-much the same. What about Samuel L. Jackson being part of proceedings like the General at the begining of Predator or him as a Carl Weathers-like character similar to Dillon too maybe.
