Certainly could see a Female Predator appear to be somewhat seductive... until they removed the Mask that is ;)
I think female Predators could use their gender and somewhat seductive qualities- if they have them (like Klingon women) to good effect. For Star Trek, it made an interesting dynamic and added complexity to that species/race. I don't think it needs to be overtly slanted male or female, but a balance could go a long way.
The Klingon women were tough warriors yet very feminine, had a certain allure and were intelligent. The Predator could go that way but would likely be a Klingon X 4.
I would be totally up for Female Predators, if done right.. i kind of like seeing Female Characters playing a Twist and a Dark Sinister Role... why i was a bit disappointed with Vickers, i felt she should have been more of a $"%£%
I am hopping that Star Wars EP9 reveals Rey in a twist where she becomes one with the Dark Side, and becomes pretty Sinister and Bad Ass.... but with Disney i think we are in for Fairy Tale Endings.
I think thats a good point... i often make jokes regarding movies with sexual undertones... mainly because there is a Adult Cinema not far from me so i often make up names of our favorite movies made for the Adult Industry even going as far as 20 years ago... where i coined to my friends... i heard Bilston Cinema is releasing Indiana Bones and the $"%"£ Crusade.... or Womb Raider.... i have joked about a movie Sexual Predator... thats about a Raunchy Female Predator comes down to mate with Men and Skin them alive.... but thats just me joking with my dark humor at times.
But certainly, if the Predators are Humanoid, can we rule out Females? And i certainly think a Female Predator would kick a Female Klingon's Booty...
And you certainly would not want to mess with B'Elanna Torres and shes only Half Klingon ;)
But yeah i am totally in support of the more Feminist movies, even though we get complaints with some movies like Ghostbuster... Ghosbusters sucked not because of having Females, it was just not a great Plot or executed well.
I have heard some (not on here) moan about Daisy Ridley in Star Wars EP-7-8 and Felicity Jones in Rogue One, but i actually think they were some of the strongest and well performed characters from those movies.
Female Klingons were pretty badass, why not Predators?

Oh well i was hoping for a Female Predator, as i think Females need more of a Role.... And imagine the only way she is detected, is via Green Goo on a Sanitary Product...

I think its interesting to see females be given more roles, its a shame when they dont get utilized to good degree in many movies
But Kudos to Female Leads in movies the last view years and i have to say they have done very good jobs.
I just hope he doens't change all that much in regards to the first film.
The R-rating sounds hopeful but the comedy part O_o?! I'm not so sure about that, also the first predator was awesome, no need to change that in my opinion.

... and just like that, a day after 'The Predator' moved to avoid releasing on the same day, 'The Equalizer 2' has moved from August 3 to July 20. Will 'The Predator' move again? :-)
Disappointing that we have to wait, but I am all for them getting everything they need/want to do do, done. So yeah. I really hope this film can deliver. I don't need something exactly like the first (which this seems to obviously not be), so this odd direction could be awesome.
August 3 also sees the release of 'The Equalizer 2', another rated R movie. Albeit, they are different genres, I think 'The Predator' moving to September 14 (which was 'The Equalizer 2' prior release date) is a good move as there won't be as much competition then. It also gives them a little more time to "button up" any adjustments.
Is better that they take their time to make the film good at least, instead of rushed film.
Exactly! I'm really hoping The Predator exceeds our expectations and that Fox / Disney continue to pursue this franchise and expand its universe. There is so much that can still be explored.
Fantastic stuff!! Shows with a bit of imagination there is still plenty of life left for the franchise, just needs a solid script

Shane Black is smart. I bet there are still some surprises waiting to be unleashed for the fans. Fingers crossed for Arnold coming back.

Bigdave, I heard the test showings had awful responses! They said its even cheesier and goofier than SW Last Jedi.
That's a long wait! Although, I actually try to avoid everything except the first trailer for something I want to see, so these late marketing campaigns (for this and Solo) is actually ideal. I'm getting super excited for The Predator!

I have only seen the movies. I think female Predators could help enrich the franchise- possibly giving added depth and new possibilities to explore.
Realistically, it could appeal to a whole new demographic :)

All they did is trash the established background of the franchise and expand it with generic SF bullcrap.To quote the guy who attended the early screening "ridiculously horrible".
it could also mean they have a surplus of material to finally expand the predator universe with....
Interesting info, this mean they already understand that the movie will fail at the box office, and they need to make some money from it with these novels.There are people who are still in denial but mark my words, paying for this movie is like giving 10 bucks to the guy who screwed your girlfriend.

This movie got terrible reviews by sample viewers. I think I'm waiting for DVD on this one. Predator is a dead series.
I didnt think there was much to explore seemed pretty evident what they do and why they do it for the most part.
Hope they don't go full Ghostbusters 2016! Will add to my list of movies to never watch - right next to Pacific Rim Uprising.
One thing is sure, the boycott is the only way to give something back and send a strong signal to the studios : your stupid ideas suck hardcore.Give us a sequel in the vein of the best predator movies, Predator and Predator 2.I'll watch this one for free just to see how bad it will look like onscreen.
I will have to save my judgement until i seen the movie.
The original movie was so interesting simply for the same reasons the first ALIEN movie was, were we had this Beast/Hunter who is stalking and killing off each human one by one.
You hardly saw the Predator until the end, the same goes with the Xenomorph in Alien... Predator 2 we got to see the Predator too much and i think that movie was not to well done.
So i think the Franchise has to try and do something different, and this is what this movie appears to be attempting and so it could indeed split opinions.. much like how the ALIEN prequels have.
When you have seen how the Plot/Portrayal of the Predator in each movie has been which includes the AVP movies, if they go for a Lone Predator hunting people in the shadows, we just a remake of Predator. If we have a more Urban Setting we could see a AVPR and Predator 2 kind of flick. If we look at AVP and Predators these two also have a similar way to deal with the Predator.
So it is a question of how do you try something different? I think this could be what they are attempting here.
