I think now Prometheus has expanded the Alien Universe with the Engineers (Space Jockey) a AVP Reboot could introduce some War or some Incident where Predators have a conflict with the Engineers and the Xenomorph is used as the Engineers way to deal with the Predator (Yautja) Race

Alien vs. Predator is a spin-off to have fun bringing these two infamous villian characters together.  A similar thing was done in Batman v. Superman (though these two are good guys fighting each other), which was followed up with Justice League when a team was formed.

So I suspect AVP has no chance of happening, particularly as Aliens are too primitive and don't team up with anyone unless they will host their offspring.  Though it sure would be fun to see a movie where Lex Luther captures a Predator who is accompanied with a pet Alien and uses them to attack Superman, hoping to spawn a Super-Alien that will destroy the world!  That could happen, right?

Ambitious, because it would require a full dedicated Trilogy, but Tim Lebbon's AVP Rage Wars is the way to go.

Deep, rich expanse story line full of intelligent action and lore. The Yautja actual have an agenda here, not just random hunt-stalk-kill scenerio's we typically get.

It would be a huge risk, but the trilogy is so ripe with goodness it could carry both franchise's forward for at least another decade. 

Hell they could even work in AVP, AVPR and The Predator into the story if they so wished.

The AVP Franchise is not Dead....  it can be Resurrected but they need to LEARN from what made the Games work and what made the Movies well Suck!

This i feel has to be about the Time-Frame.... So having a AVP that follows on from Shane Blacks Predators were we find out the Predators have also been using the Xenomorph to Enhance themselves, and they are taking some Xenomorph Eggs to Experiment on but this goes to POT!

Resulting in a Predator Ship with Eggs being captured or explored by Humans, either if this Ship heads towards or lands on Mars, the Moon or Earth....  I think would be tricky.... it could work...

But i think any AVP Reboot should take place in the Alien Universe and Timeline of 2150-2250 or abouts.  So just like the Games do.

If its a Reboot then fine. if it continues the other two AVP movies then ABFN.

It's been a while after the AVP movies and I think it's a good time to make another one. Not only because R rated movies are more accepted by a wider audience but also because the next one could be really good, they just need the right ingredients. A well written script with good lines, a little bit of humour, sympathetic characters and something new will make a good and entertaining film.

He probably realised that with the Alien prequels currently dead in the water (as far as we know, I'm still hoping Awakening will happen), Fox might look to continue with AvP instead. And if he delivers with The Predator he might even have a hand in it. I wouldn't mind seeing AvP continue, although preferably set in the future with Colonial Marines.

I agree with him... not sure how I feel yet about THE PEDATOR(I hated PREDATORS, it has a few moments, but only scenes with the titular creatures themselves), but yeah I can see him directing another AVP and I'd look forward to it.

Of course if Black's movie does well Fox will pursue the AVP route as the prequel territory is filled with land-mines. But to be clearly I am not interested in either of them.

I think thats a shame....  I mean the Queen Xenomorph gets quite a Large Role ;)  And Ripley...

I think IF this movie does well, it opens the Door to explore more movies, and i think it would be neat to pay some visit to their Home-world or a Colony and see Females then.  Even if its a Prologue or Flash-back kind of Scene.

I think there is the Potential to Explore more Background with the Predators, compared to the Xenomorph as that aways seemed like some Experiment/Creation Weapon created by the Space Jockey Race.....

Prometheus gave us a interesting route with showing us the Space Jockey/Engineers connection....

And so i think there is a lot of Background with the Predators that could be explored.  The Alien Prequels kind of showed us there was more to the Space Jockey Race than War Mongering and going around using its Bio-Weapon on Worlds..

And so we have to ask is there ANYTHING else with these Predators than just HUNTING? I do wonder if part of the Plot for The Predator MOVIE opens doors to expand on this species and its Agenda... the Genetic Enhancing World to World Plot could be interesting to expand on.

Maybe this Movie could lay foundations to Expand the Predator Franchise, as Prometheus attempted to do so with the Alien Franchise.  But as with Prometheus... i think they have to be Careful how FAR and how MUCH they try to expand on the Predators beyond the Bad-ass Hunting/Trophy Collecting Alien Race...

Would exploring their Worlds, and Race in context to what else they do apart from Hunting, and introducing Females and Infants could be something that could UPSET the Purists.

iv hear some reports that Fox/whoerver is in charge now have actually discussed female predators but are apprehensive to show them believing there will be backlash. only way I think wel get to see females is in a flash away scene of their homeworld but I don't see a female yautja getting a large role in a film

Indeed while some shots it looks a little Less Heavy Built than a Predator we usually see, we do have to bare in mind was it Shane Blacks Comments about the Large 10ft Predator where they said about going for a more Athletic look and so the same could apply to other Predators we will see in this Movie.

I do wonder if we would ever see any Females in Future but i still suspect it makes No Sense for them to have Breast.

We could even Ponder if they are Born in Eggs?

That may be fitting where the Eggs are then at a certain Stage, they are taken to a place and Placed together near Food Sources where its a RITUAL where only the Strong Survive like Sea Turtles and once they Survive this Stage they are then collected and then Raised within the Predators very Ritual/Noble Society... i just think this would be very fitting for the Race.

Rather than being Nurtured as Suckling Youngsters..

So looking at the AESTHETIC of the Predators, while Humanoid, i seem to think they have more of a Reptilian/Amphibian look to them and these Do-Not produce Milk for their Young and so i think its Logical that maybe Predators dont either.

This Predator does look less Physical compared to ones we usually see.  And while we have seen Artwork, Models and the like of Female Predators where they are quite Busty and almost like our Female Klingons...

I had mentioned this before, that would a Predator Female have BREAST?

We have seen Topless Predators a few times and they lack NIPPLES...  so its maybe Logical that their Species Do-Not Breast Feed and so there would be NO reason for Females to have Breast.

And so i dont think its should be a SHOCK or Disappointment if Female Predators are FLAT-CHESTED

Nice to see we will be getting a Rated R movie, seems they could have even more Graphic Scenes in store for us ;)

wolf predator is the first thing since the first to be that cool and calculated, a shame that movie just wasnt good

^Also are we entirely sure the Predator species is mammalian? Humanoid or not if Predator isn't or not entirely a mammal, their females may not have breasts like ours. While it is possible the female is flat chested, it is also possible that female Predators don't have breasts. That would also mean they don't nurse their young like we do.

Maybe this particular female predator is flat chested? I mean not every human female has D-cup breasts. Most are around B or A

Chris, well it makes sense judging from the body shape (ok, no huge tits, but smaller shoulders and stuff) and the mask (way more feminine then before). I've asked on 2 threads already if the creature is a female but no one seemed interested enough to answer ....

I'm pretty sure I've heard of this before.

CBR has been fairly reliable in the past with reports of this nature. Can you provide any additional sources to back that claim?

I've already gotten confirmation from someone who is involved making this film, there is no female Predator in this movie

I usually love Hot Toys details, but this figures Proportions do look a little odd..

The Legs appear a bit short and the head a little too large compared to other Predators we have seen, maybe this is only a Prototype however...  Or maybe the Predator in the movie has similar Proportions?

The advantage of this being a 11" Figure is the extra Detail you can fit in, and i have to say for a Neca Scale Figure the Detail is very fine on this one.

This certainly fits with the Big Mutha! reports from a few months ago about a 10ft Predator as the Scale of 11" to 8" would reflect to a 10ft Predator if we say the regular guys are between 7ft2-7ft8 Tall.

I hope the CGI is good enough so it looks realistic and i wonder if they have the Scale Correct so our 10ft Assasin will actually appear 10ft rather than coming up SHORT like the Engineers in Prometheus. (who were also supposed to be 10ft Tall). Prior to Shooting that is

If done well then i think giving some Military Company having a Interest in Predator Technology and what Technology/Process they use to Genetically Enhance themselves and then hope to apply and use these for Human Military Gain could be something interesting.

It adds that kind of Weyland-Yutani Vibe/Agenda to the Predator Franchise, and its very fitting because IF the Predators were real and had left some Technology on Earth you can be sure the Governments etc that recover them would be looking to Secretly Exploit and Reverse Engineer them, and also if they recovered any Alien Species they would be looking at WHAT makes them tick and what Traits make them more Advanced than us.

So i think Shane Blacks Plot is a Logical way to have expanded on the Previous movies

The AVP yautja clan and Berserker from Predators were all definitely on the clunky side, slow and heavy movements.

Will be interesting to see this new Super Predator.  

I think it is right to have the movie NOT lend to a sequel, because it does leave us on any Cliff Hanger if the movie does not do as well as FOX would hope..

Which also means IF the movie is a Hit then it certainly could be a option to go and allow Shane Black to come up with a Sequel or other Predator universe movie.

I feel you, last time I attended Comic-Con I attempted the Hall H line. Was not worth it at all.

I will be at comic-con, but I most likely won't get into the Predator panel. I am not camping out.
