All I can say is, why does it have it to be modern day again?! Why can't a Predator movie be in the future. There were novels about that, and how it tied in with the aliens. That is what I liked about the Predators movie, is that although the people were from a modern day Earth, they were sent to an alien world the Predators (Hish or Yautze) used to hunt them. The Alien movies are all in the future. let's see a Predator one in the future. It does not mean the Colonial Marines would be any better with tech against them. But the odds might improve.
I'm pretty sure it's a sequel.
Is that not his spinel cord ? If you remember the predator takes the spine out of his prey (victims)
Yeah it almost looks like a tentacle of some sort lying across Keegan-Michael Key's corpse. Assuming that is him, haha major spoiler. But the color of the flesh does not match up with that of a Predator. But, the green blood matches that of a Predator. So strange...
These... hands (or legs?) in the last picture - it doesn't look like they belong to the Predator for me... So what, the hell is going on?!? Well, this looks good.
what the he'll is going on here lol, I can't wait
It's Keegan-Michael Key laying there
wat in the world is going on??? lol! can't wait to see more
He's a great actor. Love GoT and John Wick. He always plays a nasty/annoying role (well) wonder if he'll be that way in this film.
Any news, is great news. Liking this cast.
Looks great. Love the dual wrist blades!
I hated Keyes (but loved the portrayal) and his gruesome death was kinda warranted. If he is playing his son, then I will be sitting there waiting for the disc to come flying at him...
Nice casting. High hopes!
Well that kinda sucks. But if it's better off he's not in it/not forced, then that is okay. I would be fine he didn't return (What I expected) or if he did return. Doesn't bother me much.
Can't believe it's been postponed! I was so ready for this film...Now we have to wait for August next year...
This is awesome news! I am so pumped for this film.
A horrible news.
I have to wait more days for the movie. Well the further release date, the better they can work on the movie.
probably a good call.
"lets go talk to old man Dutch!!, he's fought them Predators!"
Dutch: "yeah...i fought one..A tough SOB! But you guys are TOUGHER SOB's...Give em' hell!!" *returns to mowing lawn*
"Thanks Dutch!"
I'd bring him back as a bad guy. Head of the Predator DNA institute. He's been injecting Predator DNA for years!
Yet he's open to making another Terminator movie. I don't follow his reasoning.
It`s better this way. Possibility for re writing now, with less than 1 year from release seems too risky.
I just don't get the whole cameo idea, I'm an old school kid and I love numbered sequels with new faces. Nowadays everyone wants to see the old hero for 2-3 seconds but why? I'm ok with a new crew, a different story, a REAL sequel.
Wonder if its also not just limited role, but the kind of role too, i would think he would want not only more screen time but to play a more important role.
As i am sure even if it was a cameo he would get paid quite a fair amount of $$$$ for just a small amount of time.
So i would say its more a case of him wanting to have a bigger impact/role in the movie..
Esto es lo que verás en lasporntube:
Yes but then fat old cops are capable of beating a Yautja in hand-to-hand combat.......cough *Predator 2* lol
Id rather see man up their game on their own tech front.
I like the idea of predator tech being used, maybe if the tech is successfully replicated by man and deployed by the time the predator shows up it gets its ass kicked!
this is awesome! Top actor!
Both Alien and Predators started out with brilliant first films but what sets the franchise's apart was the scope of their sequels. Love or hate James Cameron's Aliens film, what it did was rapidly expand the Alienverse adding in the Colonial Marines, building on the crooked W-Y corp, space colonisation etc.
Predator 2 had the same premise as the first film, but in a city. Then 30 years later the third film was a carbon copy of the first film....but on a different planet. Now it looks like the fourth predator film will be a carbon copy of the second film.
We saw the tiniest glimpse of an expanded Predatorverse in AVP:R (which was a terrible film) with a peek at a predator homeworld. Go there, follow a Yautja clan on a multi-world hunt or something. Follow the novels and comics. Expand!!!
o wow, this flick is gana be good
That's great!
Well... if there's one thing he's inherited from his dad, I'd say it's definitely his teeth lol.
@ Chris true, true. But didn't either he or Fred Dekker (shudder) originally state that this movie was to be a reboot, but after polarizing negative opinion from the fans, us included, he then "corrected" himself and said his movie would be a sequel... seems to me like a "test the waters" publicity stunt.
To actually respond to the topic might be nice too, so, NO.
Unless it serves as an intrinsic plot point to reveal the Hunters' continuing evolutionary progress, I see no need to acknowledge much beyond the creature being one of a race of such beings.
As for design concepts, I posted in a different thread about designing a Primordial Predator; more primitive and brutish with steampunk style weaponry and armor.
I'm not exactly sure what this Director is going for, but now I'm thinking what a Next Level Predator might be like. Something superior to the "super predators".
More varied coloration and skin patterning perhaps. Instead of using shiftsuits for camouflage, maybe they could begin using chromatophores (sp?) to blend in naturally to their environment.
Then, more exaggerated predatory features like spikes and horns, longer teeth and claws. Bony protuberances and exoskeletal armor segments. Yeah, baby!
Man, I really gotta take some of this monstery goodness back to the old drawing board . . .
Xenotaris; I kinda figured as much. You may find me somewhat prone to wild conjecture on message boards (whoo-hoo!).
I agree finally getting to see a female Yautja is overdue at this point. Giving them mammalian traits seems a bit convenient though. Seriously, do the males have nips or what? Somebody post a pic before I start losing sleep over this!
Nebraska Williams? Quinn McKenna? What next, the child genius gets named Englebert Humperdinck? Whatever name-generating software Black has, he needs to uninstall. What's wrong with everyman, rugged and down-to-earth names like Martin Riggs or Roger Murtaugh? How about Joe Hollenbeck or Jimmy Dix?
In fact I'm going to do the unthinkable: I'm going to write a letter to Mr Black lobbying him to change the character names so far. I want Nebraska Williams to become John Giligan and Quinn McKenna to become Max Harper.
